Bringing the new Wajer 55 to life: One milestone at a time

From the first pen stroke to the first sea trial, building a Wajer is a journey defined by precision, craftsmanship, and innovation. Each phase brings its own set of milestones, moments that mark real progress in transforming an idea into a real-life Wajer.
One of the most defining moments in the build of any Wajer is the merging of the hull and deck. This is when the yacht truly begins to take shape.
Up untill now, both components were built and finished separately. The hull is constructed and faired in minute detail, while the deck is prepared with all necessary openings and reinforcements.

When two parts become one
Once both elements are ready, the alignment process begins: A delicate operation where every millimeter matters. At our shipyard in Heeg, the marriage is done with meticulous care. The two parts are brought together in a seamless connection. From that moment, the iconic silhouette of the yacht becomes visible for the first time, and what was once a technical assembly becomes something recognisably Wajer.
But that’s just one milestone in a longer journey. Once the hull and deck are joined together, our team continues with the next steps: the installation of systems, the interior fit-out, paintwork, finishing touches, and ultimately, the launching of the yacht into the water.
The first touch - 21st July, 2025
This week marked another exciting milestone in Heeg: The moment the new Wajer 55 touched the water for the very first time. After months of meticulous construction, the yacht was carefully moved out of the shipyard and expertly strapped up for launch.

Maneuvering the yacht from the yard to her new outside habitat is a delicate process that requires precision, coordination, and expertise. It’s a true team effort, with many hands working together to guide the Wajer 55 safely into position. Moments like these highlight the real craftsmanship behind every Wajer: from engineers to detailers and logistics crew, each plays a role in making this happen.
While this launch marks a major step, the yacht is not yet finished. Over the coming weeks, final touches will be added both inside and out, from systems calibration to interior detailing. But for the first time, she’s afloat. And that means sea trials are just around the corner.
Getting ready for the thrill
As the new Wajer 55 continues to take shape, we’re approaching the next key milestone: the first sea trial. A moment where everything comes together on open water. Curious? Keep an eye on this Journal if you don't want to miss the latest updates from our shipyard.
